Payment Settings

Before you can bill customers, you need to connect a Stripe account. Plantrunner uses Stripe Connect to securely process payments on your behalf.

Connecting Stripe

  1. Navigate to Payment Settings in the sidebar (or click Customer Billing then the settings link)
  2. Click Connect with Stripe
  3. Complete Stripe's onboarding process:
    • Enter your business information
    • Add your bank account for payouts
    • Verify your identity

Once complete, you'll be redirected back to Plantrunner with your account connected.

Connection status

The Payment Settings page shows your current Stripe status:

Pending SetupAccount created but onboarding incomplete

Not ConnectedNo Stripe account linked

Completing setup

If your status shows Pending Setup or Action Required:

  1. Click Continue Setup or Complete Setup
  2. Follow Stripe's prompts to provide the required information
  3. Return to Plantrunner when finished

Common requirements include:

  • Business address verification
  • Bank account details
  • Identity verification documents

Accessing Stripe Dashboard

Once connected, click Open Stripe Dashboard to:

  • View all payments and payouts
  • Download reports and statements
  • Update your bank account
  • Manage payout schedules
  • View customer payment methods

Disconnecting Stripe

If you need to disconnect your Stripe account:

  1. Cancel all active customer subscriptions first -- You cannot disconnect while customers have active billing
  2. Go to Payment Settings
  3. Click Disconnect
  4. Confirm the disconnection

Disconnecting removes the link between Plantrunner and your Stripe account. You won't be able to bill customers until you reconnect. Your Stripe account itself is not deleted.

Troubleshooting

"Charges not enabled"

This means Stripe hasn't finished verifying your account. Click Complete Setup and follow Stripe's instructions.

"Payouts not enabled"

Your bank account may need verification. Access the Stripe Dashboard to check for pending requirements.

Connection failed

If connecting fails:

  1. Ensure you're logged in as an Admin
  2. Check that your company is on a Branch plan or higher
  3. Try again -- temporary network issues can cause failures
