Route Scheduling

Plantrunner supports flexible scheduling through day-of-week selection and week patterns. This lets you set up routes that run on specific days and repeat on multi-week cycles.

Day of week

Select which days a route runs. You can choose any combination of days, such as:

  • Monday only
  • Monday, Wednesday, Friday
  • Every weekday

Week patterns

Week patterns determine which weeks in your service cycle a route is active. This is configured at the company level in Company Settings.

How cycle weeks work

Your company's cycle weeks setting (1 to 4) determines the length of your service rotation:

Cycle lengthAvailable weeksCommon use
1 weekWeek 1 onlyEvery week service
2 weeksWeek 1, Week 2Bi-weekly alternating routes
3 weeksWeek 1, 2, 3Tri-weekly rotation
4 weeksWeek 1, 2, 3, 4Monthly rotation

Example: Bi-weekly schedule

With a 2-week cycle:

  • Route A runs on Monday, Week 1
  • Route B runs on Monday, Week 2
  • The routes alternate each Monday

Example: Monthly schedule

With a 4-week cycle:

  • Route A runs on Tuesday, Weeks 1 and 3
  • Route B runs on Tuesday, Weeks 2 and 4
  • Each route runs every other Tuesday

Cycle start date

The schedule cycle start date in Company Settings is the reference point for calculating which week is current. Plantrunner counts forward from this date to determine whether the current week is Week 1, 2, 3, or 4.

Schedule and locations

Customer locations also have service frequency settings (service days and week patterns). When building routes, ensure the route's schedule aligns with the locations assigned to it, so locations are visited according to their configured frequency.

Active and inactive routes

Routes can be toggled between active and inactive. Inactive routes don't appear on employee dashboards but retain their configuration so they can be reactivated later.
