Pay Period Schedules
Pay period schedules define how pay periods are automatically created. Set up a schedule once, and Plantrunner generates new pay periods on the configured cadence.
Creating a schedule
- Navigate to Company Settings
- Select the Payroll tab
- Configure:
- Period type -- Weekly, bi-weekly, semi-monthly, or monthly
- Start date -- When the first period begins
- Auto-close after days -- Days after period end to auto-close (optional)
- Save your settings
When you save, initial pay periods are generated from the start date up to today.
Period types
Weekly
A new 7-day period starts every week on the configured day.
Bi-weekly
A new 14-day period starts every other week on the configured day.
Semi-monthly
Two periods per month:
- 1st through 15th
- 16th through end of month
Monthly
One period per calendar month, from the 1st through the last day.
Schedule status
A schedule can be active or retired. Only active schedules generate new pay periods automatically. You can retire a schedule and create a new one if your payroll cadence changes.
Modifying a schedule
Changing a schedule affects only future pay periods. Existing pay periods are not retroactively modified.
Changing a pay period schedule does not retroactively update existing periods. Only future auto-generated periods will use the new settings.
